Three decades on West State Street have made Jerry's the Treasure Valley's default stop for baseball, basketball, and football wax, sets, and singles.
Jerry's Rookie Shop has been running on West State Street for roughly thirty years, which in this hobby is long enough to have survived the junk-wax glut, the late-90s collapse, and the pandemic-era boom without changing addresses. It is the old-model sports card store: packs, boxes, and complete sets stacked along the walls, singles filed and pulled on request, and an owner who prices from memory.
The coverage is broad across the four majors — baseball, basketball, football, and hockey — with UFC, racing, and non-sport sets rounding it out. Hobby boxes are the shop's reputation; regulars consistently point to the pricing on sealed sports wax as the reason they drive past newer stores to get here. Complete sets and older issues give the shop a vintage angle that most of the newer Boise card shop openings do not attempt.
Supplies are a genuine strength rather than an afterthought. Pages, sleeves, boxes, and holders for cards and coupons are stocked deep, alongside memorabilia pieces and novelty items that turn up in the display cases.
Plan your visit for daytime. Doors open around 9:30am and close at 5pm Monday through Saturday, and the shop is closed Sundays — no evening hours, so a lunch-break or Saturday-morning trip is the realistic window. Parking is on-site off State Street, a short drive from downtown Boise and the North End.
If you collect sports cards Boise ID has newer, glossier rooms, but few with this much accumulated inventory behind the counter.
