Just For Fun

Peoria's biggest all-purpose game store stocks Magic, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh! alongside a huge board game wall, with weekly game nights on the calendar.

Ask a Peoria gamer where to go and Just For Fun comes up first. The Sterling Avenue store is the area's full-service hobby anchor — board games floor to ceiling, RPG books, miniatures and paints, a used game section, puzzles, and a serious trading card counter covering Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh! in both sealed product and singles.

The card side benefits from the store's scale. With over 400 Google reviews and a 4.6 rating, Just For Fun turns enough inventory to keep new sets on the shelf at release, and the staff draw repeated praise for actually knowing the products — a reviewer put it plainly: "impressed by the employees actually knowing about the products in the store." For newer players, that guidance plus an on-site game library you can play before you buy makes it an easy first card shop.

Community is the engine here. Weekly game nights run across multiple games, Warhammer 40k and other miniatures crowds have their own regular tables, and the calendar stays busy enough that some devotees drive over an hour to attend. If you want to find Peoria's TCG players in the wild, this is where the tables are.

Hours are long: 10AM to 8PM Monday through Thursday, until 9PM Friday and Saturday, and noon to 5PM Sunday — the only shop in this corner of Peoria open seven days. Between the hours, the play space, and the depth of stock, Just For Fun functions as the hobby's front door for the whole metro, with Pokemon cards in Peoria just one aisle of a much bigger story.
