Capital City TCG

South Cedar shop where Pokemon and Lorcana sit at MSRP, no membership required — the anti-scalper counter in Lansing.

Thomas runs Capital City TCG out of Suite D on South Cedar Street, and the pitch is simple enough that customers repeat it in nearly every review: product sits at MSRP, there's no membership tier, and nobody gets to buy out the case before you walk in. In a hobby where release-day pricing has gotten adversarial, that policy is the whole reason this shop punches above its size.

The stock list runs Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering, Disney Lorcana and One Piece — a lineup weighted toward the games families actually play together. Several regulars describe starting Lorcana here with spouses and kids and getting walked through the rules at the counter rather than sold a starter and sent home. It's a small floor, but the case rotation is current and restocks land on schedule.

Because the shop is newer, the Google review count is modest at 26 — but the 4.9 average is the highest of any Lansing card shop, and the reviews are unusually specific about pricing fairness rather than generic praise. If you're comparing Pokemon cards Lansing options on price alone, start here before paying secondary market rates elsewhere.

Hours favor the after-school and after-work crowd: noon to 7PM Monday through Thursday, noon to 8PM Friday, and an early 10:30AM open on Saturday that's the best window for release-day product. Sunday runs noon to 5PM. South Cedar has a strip-mall lot, so parking is never the problem.

Call ahead at 517-798-6361 if you're driving in for a specific set — on a small floor, a single collector can move a lot of inventory in an afternoon.
