Phase One Gaming

Cass Street game store in Omaha that stays open until midnight on Fridays, with Pokemon, Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh cards and a Sunday that runs 10AM to 8PM.

Phase One Gaming sits at 7637 Cass Street, in the 68114 ZIP of central Omaha. A perfect 5.0 on Google from 20 reviews is a small sample, but it marks a shop that is making a good first impression, and its website, phaseonegaming.com, gives you a way to see what the store is up to.

The hours stand out. The shop is closed Mondays, opens at 10AM Tuesday through Sunday, and then keeps running late: 8PM on Tuesday, 9PM on Wednesday and Thursday, midnight on Friday, 11PM on Saturday and 8PM on Sunday. A midnight Friday close is rare for a card shop, which makes it a handy venue for post-work game sessions that stretch past the usual dinner hour.

We tag the shop for Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, singles and events. As a gaming-focused store, expect trading cards alongside tabletop products and an emphasis on in-store play. Singles help a deck builder finish a list without overspending, while sealed boxes and packs serve newer players.

The best visit times depend on what you want. If you are after a quiet look at the cases, go earlier in the day on a weekday. If you want to play, Friday night is the main event, and Saturday evening is a close second. Sunday is long and relaxed with plenty of time for a trade.
