Northern New Mexico's only comic shop, Big Adventure Comics in Santa Fe's Railyard also stocks current Magic: The Gathering sealed product alongside dice and D&D.

Big Adventure Comics sits in the Railyard district across from the Violet Crown theater, a few doors from Whole Foods on South Guadalupe Street. It grew out of True Believer's Comics, which owner Kevin took over around 2011 and renamed before eventually relocating to the current Suite G storefront. Google reviews run past 240 with a 4.5 average, and the recurring theme is a calm, well-lit shop that rewards browsing.

This is a comic store first, and it calls itself the only one in northern New Mexico. New releases land Wednesdays, back-issue bins stretch along the wall, and manga and graphic novels get real shelf space. For card collectors the draw is Magic: The Gathering. The shop keeps sealed product from the three most recent Standard sets in stock along with dice and D&D books, and "Magic the Gathering cards" is one of the most-mentioned topics in its Google reviews. Pokemon and sports cards aren't part of the inventory, so set expectations accordingly.

The shop once ran a gaming annex, Big Adventure Games, in Suite N of the same building with near-daily drafts and events. That annex has since closed, so in-store play is no longer a sure thing; call ahead if you're hoping for a draft. What remains is a dependable Santa Fe card shop stop when you need a booster box or bundle of the current set and a stack of comics to go with it.

Hours are the same every day: noon to 6PM, seven days a week. Free Comic Book Day is the big annual event, pull-list subscribers get a discount, and staffer Charles gets frequent shout-outs for recommendations. Parking in the Railyard can be tight on farmers-market mornings, so an afternoon visit is easier for trading cards in Santa Fe's downtown core.
