Roomy Bensonhurst card and anime shop on 18th Avenue mixing Pokemon singles and sealed cases with gachapon, claw machines and Sonny Angels.
Lumius is part card shop and part anime arcade. One Queens visitor called it the most spacious card shop, anime and gachapon store they had seen. Trading cards share the 18th Avenue floor with rows of gacha machines, claw games, Sonny Angels, Smiski, mofusand plush and hololive goods.
The TCG side has grown a lot. A longtime customer who first visited in 2020 says the card selection was limited then and is now big enough to tempt a week's paycheck. Staff will sit down and price out a stack of twenty singles even close to closing, and they'll work out deals. That makes it worth a stop for Pokemon cards in Bensonhurst if you want singles and sealed boxes in one place.
Staff get named in reviews, with Andy and Daniel both singled out for patience and for making the shop feel welcoming to newcomers. Prices on collectibles like Sonny Angels and Smiski are described as lower than at other New York shops, which makes the shop worth a detour even if your shopping list is only half cards. Expect a busy floor on weekends when the claw machines draw families.
Sealed cases are sold too, but one buyer had a long wait on a pre-ordered booster box case and says it arrived without outer packaging. Buy cases in person, or ask how they'll ship.
Hours are consistent: noon to 8PM every day of the week. It's the kind of place to bring a friend who doesn't collect cards. While you dig through singles, they can work the claw machines or blind boxes, and reviewers mention small freebies at checkout.
Lumius is on 18th Avenue in Bensonhurst, close to the 18th Avenue stop on the D. It's an easy pairing with the other Bensonhurst card shops along Bath Avenue.
