Whipple Avenue's event engine — weekly Pokemon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Lorcana tournaments, plus a rentable room stocked with free-to-use terrain and miniatures.
Most shops put a few folding tables in the back. Battlegrounds to Board Games built the whole store around the play space. The Whipple Avenue NW location runs organized play every week across Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Lorcana and more, and the calendar is dense enough that most weeknights have something on it. Friday is the late night, with doors open until 11PM.
The wargaming side is what pushed the store past 220 Google reviews at a 4.7 average. The owner has invested heavily in custom terrain that sits out on the tables free for anyone to use, and there is a private room available to rent that comes stocked with miniatures included in the booking. Warhammer 40K players treat it as a home base. There is also a board game night where customers bring their own titles and teach them to whoever sits down.
For card buyers, the counter carries sealed product and singles across the supported games, plus sleeves, deck boxes, and the rest of the supply wall. The staff are the differentiator — a regular reviewer who does not play TCGs at all still noted the staff's depth across Magic, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Lorcana. If you are new to a game and want someone to actually walk you into it, this Canton card shop is the one to try first.
Hours are generous compared with most of the area. Monday through Thursday run noon to 9PM, Friday stretches to 11PM, Saturday opens at noon and also runs to 11PM, and Sunday is a shorter noon-to-6PM. Check the event calendar on the shop's site before heading over if you want a quiet browse — tournament nights fill the room.
Whipple Avenue NW is a busy retail corridor on Canton's west side with plenty of parking. The store also runs an online storefront, so you can check availability before making the drive.
