Chuck Whisman's 3,200 sq ft Manheim Pike shop stocks the deepest sealed wax and graded slab inventory in Lancaster, with PSA and SGC submissions on site.

Chuck Whisman started VSM out on Lincoln Highway East back in 2013, and by late 2022 he had outgrown it badly enough to move the whole operation into a 3,200 square foot space on Manheim Pike — more than double the old footprint. That room gets used. Sealed hobby boxes, jumbo packs, blasters and full cases line one side; the counters hold raw and graded singles across baseball, football, basketball, hockey, soccer, racing and UFC.

What separates this Lancaster card shop from a straight retail counter is Wheatland Auction Services, which operates out of the same building under Stacey Whisman. Wheatland has been consigning sports cards and memorabilia since 2013 and runs four to five online auctions a year, which means high-end material cycles through the store constantly rather than sitting in a case for months. If you walk in with a collection you are not limited to a buy offer — consignment is a real option.

The shop has drawn an unusual amount of camera attention for a regional card store. Whisman is the subject of "Hobby House," a series that began airing on regional sports networks in December 2025, and the store appears monthly on The Card Life. WGAL, CBS Mornings and TMZ all covered the Uncle Jimmy Collection that passed through here. Live box breaks run on Whatnot for anyone who cannot make it in person.

Grading is handled in house as a submission service through PSA and SGC, and VSM periodically hosts JSA autograph authentication days — worth calling ahead about if you have a signed item that needs a letter. Staff will also value a card at the counter without any obligation to sell, which several reviewers have singled out.

Hours run 11AM to 6PM Monday through Friday and 10AM to 4PM on Saturday, closed Sundays; the shop's own site has at times advertised longer evening hours, so a quick phone call before a late trip is worth the thirty seconds. The store sits in the Chelsea Square shopping center with easy surface parking, a straightforward stop off Route 72 heading north out of the city.
