The 2025 Allen & Ginter blaster is the retail way into a set built for collectors who like to finish things. It has 48 cards in eight packs, the same 300-card checklist, minis and foil parallels, and no guaranteed autograph. Some sellers call it the value blaster, and its retail price is $34.99. The set came out in December 2025. Here is what is in it, and when it beats the hobby box. The full line is in our Topps Allen & Ginter guide.

Configuration

Eight packs of six cards, 48 cards in all. Listings call it both a "blaster" and a "value blaster"; the 48-card, eight-pack box is the same product either way. Retail price is $34.99.

There is no hit guarantee. Autographs, relics and rip cards are in the product, but in a blaster they are random pulls rather than the two per box the hobby version promises. What a blaster reliably delivers is base cards, short prints, minis and themed inserts.

What collectors open blasters for

Base and short prints

The 2025 set is 300 cards plus 50 short prints, with MLB rookies and stars next to the pop-culture names that make A&G what it is. Roki Sasaki's base rookie card (#92) is the headline baseball card for most buyers.

Minis

Minis are the core of A&G collecting, and blasters carry them. The 2025 mini lineup includes Chrome minis with a Refractor ladder (Green /99 down to a Superfractor 1/1), Metal minis numbered to 3 and Stained Glass minis numbered to 25. A Chrome or Metal mini is about the best realistic outcome from a blaster.

Foil parallels

Full-size base cards come in Foil Filigree versions numbered Gold /50, Orange /25, Black /10 and Red /5, plus a Silver Portrait parallel and a Glossy 1/1.

Inserts

The themed sets that give each year its character: Sweet Victory, Wicked Curves and State Birds are new for 2025, alongside Beachin' It, Light The Night and a 2024 World Champions set.

The World Champions set covers the 2024 Los Angeles Dodgers.

How many blasters make a set?

The base set is 300 cards. A blaster holds 48 cards, and not all of them are base: some slots go to minis, short prints and inserts. So even with no duplicates at all, a base set takes at least seven blasters. In practice, duplicates mean a collector building only from blasters needs well over that. The short prints are the slowest part. Most set builders open a few blasters for the fun of it, then buy the remaining base and short prints as a lot or in singles.

A blaster is also the cheapest way to sample the product's oddities: a pop-culture name on a base card, a themed insert, a mini in a parallel back. That is how most people come to collect A&G in the first place. Value packs, listed from $7.99, are smaller again, for anyone who wants a few packs rather than a box. A hanger and a mega box are also in the 2025 retail lineup, and our catalogue lists both. Neither had a live listing when we checked, so the blaster is the retail box you can actually price today. This year is the twentieth since Topps revived the 19th-century tobacco-card design in 2006, and the format has barely changed since.

Ten months after release, blasters trade on both sides of retail. That is typical of A&G retail, which is printed widely and stays on shelves well after the release window. There is no premium to pay for a 2025 blaster, and anyone paying much over $35 is overpaying.

For set builders, several blasters are the cheaper route to a base set and a run of minis. For anyone who opens A&G for the non-baseball autographs, such as Al Pacino or Bryan Cranston, the 2025 hobby box is the product: in a blaster those cards are a long shot.

Shopping tips

Retail blasters are a common target for resealing, because they are cheap to buy and easy to open. A factory blaster has tight wrap with a neat seam folded under the box, not tape or glue, and the box should not rattle with loose packs. Discount stores and card shops both carry them; the card shop directory will find a shop near you. On eBay:
