Hobby Box

Hobby Preferred Box

New for the 2025 edition, the Hobby Preferred box uses the same 12-pack, five-card layout but averages two hits instead of three and carries a different insert mix, including Selective Swatches and Select Certified. It launched at $199.95 and has been discounted to about $150 at distributors, making it the cheaper way into the 2025 checklist.

FOTL Hobby Box

First Off The Line boxes sold through Panini a week before general release add one FOTL Mojo parallel numbered /6 or less and one Mojo autograph /17. Sealed FOTL boxes sell for $320-$400 for 2021-2022 and have gone as high as $1,000 for 2025 outliers, though $350-$450 is the realistic range.

Mega Box

The retail mega box holds eight packs of four cards with one autograph or relic, six exclusive Ice Prizm parallels and four inserts. Expect $45-$75 sealed for recent years.

Blaster Box

Blasters are six packs of four cards with no hit guarantee and retail-only parallels. They sell for $25-$40 sealed.

The 2022 box is the one that has held up best because of the Witt and Rodriguez class, and the 2021 box remains the cheapest way into the modern Select run. The 2025 edition is a wild card: its $300 launch price is the highest in the line's history, sales have ranged from $150 to $350 in the first six months, and there is no confirmed 2026 Select baseball on the calendar as of August 2026.

Chase cards, parallels and hit rates

Select's identity is the three-tier base set. Concourse cards are the common tier, Premier Level cards are seeded roughly one per pack and Club Level cards are the short prints, and every tier carries its own Prizm parallel rainbow with Silver, Blue, Red, Gold /10, Black Gold /5 and 1/1 versions. Tie-Dye, Tiger, Zebra and Peacock patterned parallels are the case-hit tier, and Mojo parallels are exclusive to FOTL boxes. Color Wheel, Phenomenon and En Fuego are the recurring inserts, with Color Wheel the one that consistently sells above the box price when it hits a top prospect.

Is Panini Select worth buying sealed?

Select boxes usually sell for less than Prizm of the same year even though they deliver the same three hits, so on a hit-per-dollar basis Select is the better rip. How to spot fakes and resealed boxes

Panini Select hobby boxes are shrink-wrapped with a Panini tamper label on the lid and a printed configuration sticker on the side. Hobby Preferred boxes are marked as such on the box art, so a seller listing a Preferred box as a full hobby box is either mistaken or shaving the price gap. FOTL boxes carry a First Off The Line sticker on the outer wrap and Mojo parallels inside, and a "FOTL" listing without the sticker is a red flag. The five-card packs are thin, which makes weighing feasible for a searcher; buy sealed boxes rather than loose packs from unknown sellers, and pass on mega boxes with loose or re-melted shrink.
