Panini Chronicles is the catch-all product that packs a dozen or more Panini brands into one box: Spectra, Obsidian, Gold Standard, Limited, Titan, Playbook, Crown Royale, Luminance and the rest, each with its own base card and parallel scheme for every player. The baseball version ran from 2019 through the 2023 edition, which shipped in November 2023, and Panini has not returned to it since. It is unlicensed by MLB like all Panini baseball, so uniforms are airbrushed and there are no logos, and it was produced under the MLBPA players' license Panini held through 2025. Collectors buy it sealed for the sheer variety, for Spectra and Obsidian cards that otherwise cost far more per box, and for a three-autograph box that has stayed under $200 for most of its run.

Hobby Box
The 2023 Chronicles hobby box holds six packs of eight cards and promises three autographs, one memorabilia card and two Spectra cards per box, at a $229.95 suggested price. Earlier editions used a similar six-pack layout with three hits. The 2023 box trades in a wide $110-$270 band as of August 2026 because volume is low; 2022 boxes sell for $155-$200, 2021 boxes for $100-$180 and 2020 boxes for $135-$220.
FOTL Hobby Box
First Off The Line boxes carried exclusive FOTL parallels across several of the sub-brands and a FOTL-only autograph. Sealed 2022 FOTL boxes trade at $280-$295 and 2021 FOTL boxes at $200-$240, roughly $80-$120 over the standard hobby box.
Blaster Box

The 2022 box is the most sought after because of the Witt and Rodriguez class and because Chronicles gives those rookies a dozen different brand-design cards in one product, including Spectra and Obsidian versions that carry real value. The 2023 box is the final edition and has the Henderson and Carroll class, but it was released late, sold poorly at launch and trades erratically. Rookie cards of the top player exist across every sub-brand, which makes Chronicles a favorite of rainbow and player collectors and a headache for set builders.
Autographs come from Spectra, Obsidian, Elite, Limited, Playbook, Gold Standard and other sub-brands, mixing sticker and on-card signatures; three per hobby box plus one relic was the structure for the 2023 edition. Is Panini Chronicles worth buying sealed?

As an investment it has been middling: the sub-brand sprawl means most cards from a box are common, unlicensed autographs sell for less than Topps equivalents and only the 2022 box has appreciated meaningfully. Buy 2022 hobby or FOTL boxes to hold, buy 2020-2021 boxes to open, and treat 2023 as a value buy only when it is available toward the bottom of its range.
How to spot fakes and resealed boxes
Chronicles hobby boxes ship in shrink with a Panini tamper label on the lid and a printed configuration label on the side. The six-pack hobby box is small and easy to reseal, so insist on an intact tamper label and factory shrink with clean seams. FOTL boxes carry a First Off The Line sticker on the outer wrap. Retail blasters and hangers are the more common problem: the 2020 blasters with six-card packs were searched heavily, and Velocity parallel packs can be spotted by thickness, so buy sealed blasters with tight shrink and pass on loose retail packs from sellers without sealed-product feedback.
