Box formats for Topps Transcendent Collection
Hobby Box (2023-present format)
The current Transcendent box is a briefcase-style case holding 42 cards: two autographs, two autograph patches, two rookie autographs or rookie autograph patches, two autograph relics, one jumbo, dual or triple patch relic, one additional hit and four Transcendent Icons Chrome packs of eight cards each, including a guaranteed Superfractor. Topps priced the 2024 box at $5,999.99 through an EQL raffle, and the 2025 box carried a similar price. As of August 2026, 2025 boxes trade at $5,500-$7,500 and 2024 boxes at $5,000-$7,000. Every box is its own case.
Hobby Box (2016-2022 format)
The original Transcendent was a wooden display case priced at $25,000 to $27,000 with production of 65 to 99 units. A 2022 box, for example, held 109 cards: a complete 50-card Transcendent Icons or Image Variations set numbered to 50, 55 autographs, one Chrome pack and a VIP event invitation numbered to 99. These sell as complete sealed units only occasionally; 2016 through 2022 boxes list at $15,000-$30,000 depending on the year and whether the party invitation has been used.
VIP Party Invitation
Through 2022 every box included an invitation to the Transcendent party, a Topps-hosted event with players and additional exclusive cards. In the current format the invitations are inserted randomly: 100 Gold Tier invites and 10 Transcendent Tier invites per year, with the Transcendent Tier version offering a more exclusive experience. A pulled invitation is itself a card with resale value.

The old-format boxes are collector pieces more than break product; their value is in the complete Icons set and the number of autographs, and they trade rarely. In the current format, 2024 is the strongest year on rookie content. The 2025 box priced about the same as 2024 with a thinner class, so it sits at the low end of the range unless a Sasaki or Skenes pull is on the table.
Chase cards, parallels and hit rates
Transcendent Icons is the base design, a thick foil card numbered to 50 or less in the old format and, in the current Chrome packs, a Refractor-style set with a guaranteed Superfractor per box. Autographs in the current box come from Transcendent Autographs (on-card, stars and legends), Autograph Patches, Rookie Autographs and Rookie Autograph Patches, and Autograph Relics; the relic slot is a jumbo, dual or triple patch. Most cards are numbered to 25 or less with Gold and Platinum one-of-ones. In the old format the highlights were hand-drawn sketch cards, dual and triple autograph books and the complete set itself.
Because each box is its own case, everything the box contains is the guarantee: at least eight autographs, a relic, an additional hit and the Chrome packs. VIP invitations are the only random element and are seeded at 110 across the whole production run.
Is Topps Transcendent Collection worth buying sealed?
A $6,000 Transcendent box in the current format returns, in a typical break, eight autographs that together sell for $1,500-$3,500, a relic, a Superfractor and the Chrome cards; on expected value it loses money like every product at this tier, and the only routes to break-even are a Gold Tier invite, a top-star Gold 1/1 or a Skenes or Sasaki patch auto. Old-format boxes are a different question: they were also underwater on card value at $25,000, and cardlines and others noted at the time that most cards in the box sell for less than the buy-in, but they are historically significant and scarce, and complete sealed examples have held roughly flat. Buy the current format to open or as a scarce sealed item; buy the old format only as a collector.
How to spot fakes and resealed boxes
Current-format Transcendent ships as a briefcase-style presentation case inside Topps shrink with a printed seal; the 42 cards are in foam trays with the Chrome packs foil-wrapped. Old-format boxes are wooden display cases with a latch and Topps seal. Because each unit is worth thousands, check that shrink has one factory seam, the seal is uncut, and the Chrome packs are unopened if shown. For old-format boxes, ask whether the VIP invitation is still present, since a "complete" box with the invite removed is worth less. Insist on the EQL order record or dealer invoice; Transcendent was never sold in volume, so provenance is easy to ask for.
Where to buy Topps Transcendent Collection sealed
Transcendent is sold almost entirely through Topps EQL raffles, with a handful of boxes reaching high-end dealers. Shops in the card shop directory that break Topps high-end sometimes take Transcendent orders, and the large card shows are where old-format boxes and current-format boxes from breakers change hands.
