Draft Booster Box

Thirty-six packs of fifteen cards. Dominaria United limited was built around the domain and kicker mechanics and drafted well, which is part of why Draft boxes have held up. Expect $155-$200, with completed sales at the lower end and retail at the upper.

Set Booster Box

Thirty packs of twelve cards, each with an art card, a guaranteed foil, a shot at The List and a slot for the stained-glass full-art basic lands that Magali Villeneuve illustrated for this set. Boxes run $250-$300, a wide premium over the Draft box that reflects both the lands and the higher Sheoldred density people perceived at the time.

Collector Booster Box

Twelve Collector Boosters holding the borderless, showcase, textured foil and extended-art versions. This is also where Lost Legends appeared: Wizards seeded genuine 1994 Legends cards, recovered from a warehouse find, into roughly three percent of Dominaria United Collector Boosters. Boxes trade between about $335 and $500 depending on venue, with TCGplayer mid near $500 and completed eBay sales lower.

Jumpstart Booster Box

Twenty packs of twenty cards across ten themes, each pack a ready-to-shuffle half-deck. Jumpstart boxes run $90-$110 and are the cheapest way to get a casual play night out of the set. They contain none of the special treatments.

Bundle

Eight Set Boosters, a foil alternate-art promo, forty basic lands with twenty foil, a spindown die and a storage box, around $95-$110.

Commander Decks

Two decks: Painbow, a five-color deck led by Jared Carthalion, and Legends' Legacy, an Orzhov-red deck led by Dihada, Binder of Wills. Each includes a Collector Booster Sample Pack and a foil-etched display commander. They sell for $40-$80.

Prerelease Kit

Six Draft Boosters, a foil year-stamped rare or mythic, a spindown and a deck box, generally $50-$65.

Chase cards and Booster Fun treatments

Sheoldred, the Apocalypse dominates this set's value to a degree that is almost comical. The textured foil version leads at roughly $140-$150, with the compleat foil near $139, borderless foil near $130, non-foil borderless near $122, showcase foil near $103 and even the plain non-foil around $96. The next-most-valuable card in the set is not close. Dominaria United has no serialized cards.

The treatments are textured foil on a short list of mythic legends, a compleat frame on the Phyrexian-flavored cards, borderless planeswalkers, extended art and the stained-glass basics. Twenty Legends Retold box toppers reimagined legendary creatures from the 1994 Legends set and were distributed as toppers with sealed displays, which is why loose toppers and topper-included boxes are priced differently.

Lost Legends deserve their own note. These are actual 1994 Legends cards, in whatever condition thirty years in a warehouse produced, inserted into about three percent of Collector Boosters. A Lost Legends hit can be a bulk rare or it can be a Moat or a Chains of Mephistopheles, which is why some buyers still target DMU Collector Boosters specifically. It is also why loose DMU Collector Boosters should be treated as a mapping risk.

Is Dominaria United worth buying sealed?

Sealed DMU has appreciated modestly since Draft and Set Boosters were discontinued, and the Lost Legends angle gives its Collector Boosters a story most in-universe sets lack. It is still not a good hold.

The math is straightforward. A Collector box at $400 or more needs an exceptional Lost Legends hit to beat singles, and the base case is a handful of Sheoldred variants that you could buy outright for a fraction of the box price. Sheoldred has already been reprinted in supplemental product and will be again; if that continues, the set's single value pillar gets shorter. The Draft box is the honest purchase here, because the limited format is good and $175 for thirty-six packs of drafting is reasonable entertainment. Buy the Collector box if you want to gamble on Lost Legends and are content to lose that bet most of the time.

How to spot fakes, resealed and mapped boxes

Dominaria United Collector Boosters are among the most mapped packs in modern Magic, precisely because a Lost Legends card is a physically different card stock inside the pack. Never buy loose DMU Collector Boosters from a seller you cannot verify, and be suspicious of anyone selling "hand-picked" or "heavy" packs.

On boxes, check that shrink is tight across the whole face with clean, machine-cut seams, that the flaps show no lifted adhesive or reheat gloss, and that the box topper situation matches the listing, since a box that has had its Legends Retold topper removed has been opened. Counterfeit sealed product exists for Magic; compare the box art print quality and set symbol placement against a known-good image. A box pulled from a sealed case in front of you removes almost all of this risk.

Local shops frequently still have DMU Draft boxes and Commander decks on the shelf at pre-spike prices, so check the card shop directory first. Card shows are a good venue for Jumpstart boxes and bundles. Online, these searches return clean results:
