Elite Trainer Box
The ETB ships with nine Shrouded Fable packs, a full-art Pecharunt promo, 65 card sleeves, dice, condition markers and a storage box. It launched at $49.99 and was easy to find at retail for the first few months. As of August 2026 sealed ETBs sell for $105–$135 on eBay, roughly double MSRP, and the price has crept up steadily rather than spiked. It is the natural pick for anyone who wants a sealed piece of the set with a promo attached.
Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box
The Pokémon Center version adds a set of exclusive foil energy cards and carries the Pokémon Center logo on the front. Sealed copies trade in the $145–$180 range. The premium over the retail ETB is modest compared with later sets, so this is one of the more affordable Pokémon Center ETBs from the era.
Booster Bundle
Six packs in a slim box at $26.94 retail. Bundles now sell for $45–$60 sealed, which makes them the cheapest way to buy Shrouded Fable packs in quantity. Six-bundle display cases occasionally surface at $500–$600 but are rare on the secondary market.
Mini Tins and Checklane Blisters
The mini tins feature the three Loyal Three (Okidogi, Munkidori and Fezandipiti) plus Pecharunt art, each with two packs, an art card and a sticker. They run $20–$28 each sealed. Single-pack checklane blisters with a promo card sell for $14–$20. Loose packs on their own bring $12–$16, which tells you how thin the pack supply has become.
Kingdra ex and Greninja ex Special Illustration Collections
These two boxes were the premium products for the set. Each includes a Special Illustration Rare promo (Kingdra ex or Greninja ex), a matching foil card, and four Shrouded Fable packs, with a $39.99 MSRP. The Greninja ex collection is the more popular of the two and sells for $150–$190 sealed; the Kingdra ex collection sits around $95–$120. The promos themselves are the main reason people buy these.

Chase cards and pull rates
Shrouded Fable is unusual in that its illustration rares, not its ex cards, carry much of the value. Persian IR (078/064) and Houndoom IR (066/064) trade at $55–$70 raw, and the Duskull, Dusclops and Dusknoir illustration rare trio runs $30–$55 each because collectors want the set of three. Cassiopeia SIR (094/064) sits around $35–$50 and Fezandipiti ex SIR (092/064) at $35–$45. Pecharunt ex SIR (093/064), the set's headline card, has settled at $20–$30 raw with PSA 10 copies around $80, which is low for a special-set headliner. The Basic Darkness Energy hyper rare (098/064) is the rarest card in the set and sells for $40–$70.
Pull rates are commonly reported at roughly one Special Illustration Rare per 80–90 packs and one illustration rare every eight or nine packs. That illustration rare rate is generous, so a single ETB usually produces at least one IR hit.
Is Shrouded Fable worth buying sealed?
This is a value play rather than a trophy set. The chase cards are modest, so per-pack expected value at $12–$16 a pack is weak, and nobody should buy an ETB expecting to pull their money back. What supports sealed prices is the combination of a short print window, no booster box, and a small checklist that keeps master-set collectors buying packs. Sealed ETBs have gone from $50 to $120 in two years without much fanfare. Reprint risk is low for a set this size, but upside is also capped by the lack of a $300-plus chase card. Buy sealed if you like the Kitakami theme and want a low-cost hold; skip it if you are chasing big hits.
How to spot fakes and resealed products
Because Shrouded Fable was not a heavily hyped set, outright counterfeit ETBs are less common than with Prismatic Evolutions, but resealed packs are the concern. Genuine packs have machine-crimped edges with a uniform wave pattern, and the pack art (Pecharunt, Kingdra ex, Okidogi and Fezandipiti variants) should be sharp with no blurring. Every real pack contains a code card; a pack that feels thin or shows no stiff card near the back may have been opened. ETB shrink wrap should be tight with a single horizontal seam and small vent holes. For the ex collection boxes, confirm the promo window is intact and the cardboard tab has not been re-glued. Buy from shops or sellers with sealed-product history, and avoid listings with stock photos only.
