The Funky Town Card Show holds its mid-October Friday night at the Meadowbrook Recreation Center on October 16, 2026, doors 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, free as always. Mid-month Fridays at this series have their own character — slightly smaller than the first-Friday editions, slightly more relaxed, and consistently the best of the month for people who come to trade rather than to shop.
The floor carries roughly 65 to 85 vendor tables. Pokemon is the largest single category: graded vintage, modern chase cards, sealed boosters and bundles, promos and deep binder singles priced for players. One Piece has become a full section of its own at this series. Dragon Ball, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering and Lorcana all have dedicated sellers. Sports dealers bring MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL singles across every era — mid-October means football rookies and World Series-adjacent baseball material are the fastest movers, alongside graded stars, sealed wax and bulk team boxes. Comics, anime figures, Funko Pops, sneakers, video games, autographs and handmade craft goods round out the room. Giveaways run through the evening.
The evening breaks into three predictable phases. From 6:00 to 7:00 PM, buyers hit the cases while everything is still out. From 7:00 to 9:00 PM the room turns social — binders open, trades stack up, and this is when the Funky Town crowd is at its best. After 9:00 PM the discounts appear, because a dealer choosing between a fair offer and repacking a tote will usually take the offer.
Admission is free with no ticket, registration or door line, and parking on site is free. Mid-October evenings in North Texas are as pleasant as the year gets, which does not hurt attendance.
Meadowbrook Recreation Center is at 1400 Dugan Street in central Arlington, just south of East Abram Street, minutes from downtown, UTA and the entertainment district. Highway 360, I-30 and Division Street feed it directly, keeping the drive short from Grand Prairie, Mansfield, Kennedale, Pantego, Hurst and Euless. Abram and Collins have dinner covered.
This show is at its best for traders and for working collectors. If you cannot give up a Saturday, a free Friday evening with 65-plus tables is the single most efficient hobby outing available in Tarrant County. If you trade, this is one of the most binder-friendly rooms in the region — the regulars know each other and deals close quickly. Families come out ahead too: free entry plus dollar boxes means a child can have a genuinely good night for pocket change. And bargain hunters consistently find Friday pricing softer than weekend arena pricing on comparable cards.
Practical advice: bring cash, since evening dealers price for speed. Bring a trade binder with asks already noted so you are not doing mental math at the table. Do one complete lap before spending anything. If you are selling, arrive at 6:00 PM while the buying tables still have cash on hand. If you are buying value, stay until the last half hour.
