Chaotic Goods: Cards and Games

Small Cordova game store with MTG, Pokemon and Riftbound singles, generous trade-in values, and a community crowd where solo players find a game fast.

Chaotic Goods: Cards and Games is a compact store in a Houston Levee Road plaza in Cordova, in the 38016 area northeast of Memphis, and its customers talk about it like a clubhouse. One regular calls it one of their favorite local game stores in the greater Memphis area because it feels like family, noting that even lone players can find someone to play with.

The singles case covers Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon and Riftbound, with sealed product as well, plus Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer supplies. Reviewers say the shop gives great trade-in value for your cards and runs interesting events, and the 4.9 Google rating from a modest pool of reviews points to a loyal audience. If you want Pokemon cards in Memphis alongside Riftbound or MTG singles, it's one of the more flexible options in Cordova.

The shop is small, and a reviewer says it can get warm inside, with expansion on the horizon. Families lean on it too: a parent who had never played D&D started bringing their daughters in, and the owner, Zach, taught them to play and acted as their dungeon master.

Hours are uneven, so check them before driving over. The shop is closed Tuesday, open 11AM to 7PM on Monday and Wednesday, 12:30PM to 7PM on Thursday, 11AM to 9PM Friday and Saturday, and 11AM to 5PM on Sunday. Friday and Saturday evenings are the best time to find a game, while weekdays are quieter for selling cards. Call 901-701-6950 and check the shop's event calendar before you go.
