FX Games is a retro video game store first, and it is worth saying that plainly. What earns it a place in a card directory is that the Pokemon section is real and consistently stocked, and for a lot of Plano families the Custer Road strip center is the closest place to pick up packs without a trip to a dedicated hobby shop.

The rest of the store is a genuine treasure hunt. Classic consoles and cartridges going back several generations fill the shelves, alongside modern used games, action figures, Hot Wheels, LEGO sets, vinyl records and CDs. Collectors who came in for a Game Boy game tend to leave with something else entirely, and the 459 Google reviews at a 4.6 average suggest that experience repeats reliably.

The service side is unusual for a shop this size. FX handles console repair in house, which means a dead HDMI port or a drifting controller does not have to become a replacement purchase. Buy, sell and trade runs across every category they stock, curbside pickup is available, and there is a military discount.

Hours are noon to 8PM Monday and Wednesday through Saturday, noon to 6PM Sunday, and closed all day Tuesday.
