San Antonio's vintage Pokemon specialist on Vance Jackson, stocking the city's largest English and Japanese single selection plus a weekly Pokemon League.
Tucked into the Dell Village Shopping Center on Vance Jackson, House of Cards and Collectibles has built its name on one thing in particular: the largest selection of single vintage Pokemon cards in San Antonio, in both English and Japanese. Collectors hunting a specific holo from a base-set run or an obscure Japanese promo tend to end up here, because the singles inventory goes deeper than the big-box stores.
That Pokemon depth does not crowd out the rest of the hobby. The shelves carry sports cards featuring legends from Kobe Bryant to Reggie Jackson, plus Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, comics, toys, and figures, a true collectibles shop rather than a single-game specialist. Booster packs, boxes, structure and starter decks round out the trading-card side for players as well as collectors.
The shop leans into community, too. House of Cards hosts a sanctioned Pokemon League, and reviewers single out an owner who will take the time to talk Pokemon with kids and walk newer collectors through what they are looking at. That patient, family-friendly tone is a recurring theme in feedback about the store.
One thing worth planning around is the schedule, which is more limited than a typical card shop. The store is closed Monday and Sunday, opens at noon on Tuesday, runs 10AM to 6PM Wednesday through Friday, and closes early at 4PM on Saturday, so a midweek visit gives you the most runway. For collectors focused on vintage Pokemon in San Antonio or building across multiple games at once, House of Cards rewards the trip with inventory that is hard to match locally.
