Tier 1 Cards & Games

Tier 1 Cards & Games is Anchorage's premier friendly local game store, offering an extensive selection of Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Warhammer 40K, and board games alongside a thriving tournament community. Located on W. Dimond Blvd with extended evening hours.

Tier 1 Cards & Games has rapidly become one of Anchorage's most beloved hobby destinations since opening its doors on West Dimond Boulevard. The store's philosophy centers around being a true "friendly local game store" — a welcoming place where competitive players, casual collectors, and newcomers all feel at home.

The Tier 1 product lineup is impressive in its breadth. Magic: The Gathering is a major focus, with over 100 sealed products available at any given time alongside a deep singles inventory. Pokémon collectors and players will find sealed sets, booster boxes, and individual cards. Warhammer 40K fans will find a jaw-dropping selection of over 1,700 Warhammer products — likely the largest such inventory in Alaska — plus an extensive range of paints and hobby supplies for miniature modelers.

Beyond the heavy-hitters, Tier 1 carries Weiss Schwarz, Legend Story Studios' Flesh & Blood, Bandai card games, Dragon Ball Super, and a growing roster of other trading card games. The board game section spans everything from gateway titles to heavy Euro-games, and a well-curated accessories department ensures players have the sleeves, deck boxes, and playmats they need.

The store's events program is among the most active in southcentral Alaska. Weekly tournaments run throughout the week across multiple game systems, with Friday Night Magic, Pokémon League, and Weiss Schwarz battles drawing a dedicated crowd. Tier 1 is an official WPN (Wizards Play Network) premium store, meaning it hosts prerelease events and competitive-level play.

Tier 1 also maintains a well-stocked online store at tier1cardsandgames.com, allowing customers to browse and purchase products for in-store pickup or shipping. The store has been spotlighted by local business communities as a standout example of what a modern FLGS can be in a mid-sized city.

With extended evening hours (open until 9 PM on weekdays) and a welcoming Discord community, Tier 1 is built for the working collector and gamer who needs a shop that works around their schedule.
