Children are welcome with a parent, and a Friday evening trade night is a genuinely good way to introduce a kid to negotiating, valuing cards and dealing with people face to face.
The Virginia Beach Fieldhouse is a large indoor sports complex with a huge parking lot, clean restrooms and concessions. Access from Interstate 264 and Princess Anne Road is easy, and the drive from Norfolk, Chesapeake and the Oceanfront is straightforward. Because Trade Night runs in the evening, traffic is lighter than a weekend show and you will not circle for a space.
Who should attend: active traders above all. Also collectors who want to move duplicates without paying marketplace fees, players looking to complete a deck through swaps, anyone planning to attend the Saturday and Sunday show who wants to preview vendors and scout inventory, and newcomers who want to learn how card valuation conversations actually work. If you only want to buy, you may find the weekend show a better use of your time.
Tips for the best experience: bring a well-organized binder with cards you are genuinely willing to part with, sleeved and in decent condition. Know your comps before you sit down, because the person across the table almost certainly knows theirs. Bring some cash to bridge value gaps in a trade, since most deals end up a little uneven.
