Trade Night returns to the Virginia Beach Fieldhouse on Friday, April 16, 2027, the evening before 757 Card Shows opens its two-day spring weekend at the same venue. The promoter runs a Trade Night the Friday before every Fieldhouse show, and the format has developed a loyal following of its own separate from the weekend event.
This is not a show with dealer tables selling to a walk-in crowd. It is a room full of collectors sitting across from one another with binders open, negotiating swaps. Sports cards and Pokemon dominate the trading volume, but Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Lorcana and Dragon Ball Super all move. Graded slabs get traded alongside raw cards, and value discussions are grounded in recent sold comps rather than book prices. Some weekend vendors set up early and will sell during Trade Night, so buying is possible, but trading is the reason people come.
April timing gives the room a particular flavor. Baseball season is a few weeks old, the NBA and NHL playoffs are starting, the NFL draft is imminent, and spring product releases are circulating. That mix means people are actively rebalancing collections rather than sitting on them, which is exactly what makes a trade night work.
Hours run 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Admission is free and parking is free, standard for everything 757 Card Shows runs. There is no ticketing and no fee for casual traders. The Virginia Beach Fieldhouse at 2020 Landstown Center Way is a large indoor sports complex with a very large free lot, clean restrooms and concessions. Evening traffic is lighter than weekend show traffic, so parking is easy. Access from Interstate 264 and Princess Anne Road is direct, and the drive from Norfolk, Chesapeake and the Oceanfront is short.
Who should attend: active traders first and foremost. Also collectors clearing duplicates without paying marketplace fees, players completing decks through swaps, anyone attending the Saturday and Sunday show who wants to scout inventory and meet vendors in advance, and newcomers who want to learn how these conversations go before spending real money.
Tips for the best experience: bring a well-organized binder of cards you are truly willing to trade away, sleeved and in honest condition. Know your comps before sitting down, because the person across from you will know theirs. Carry cash to bridge value gaps, since almost no trade lands perfectly even. Arrive close to 6:00 PM, as the strongest trading happens in the first ninety minutes before people settle into pairs. Be willing to walk away from a bad deal. And take a lap to see what is circulating before you commit your best card to the first person who asks about it.
