About This Event

The October edition of the Poke Craft & Card Show runs Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 757 Cards & Cabinets in Newport News, and it arrives at a good moment in the collecting calendar. Football season is in full swing, the fall Pokemon set releases have landed, and holiday shopping has not yet driven sealed product prices up. That combination usually means a busy floor and a lot of movement.

Pokemon is the anchor category. Vendors bring booster boxes, elite trainer boxes, collection tins and blisters from current sets, plus back stock from earlier releases that has become harder to find at retail. Singles run the full range from bulk commons sold by the hundred to alt arts, special illustration rares and graded slabs. Vintage WOTC-era cards appear in cases, and Japanese imports show up on at least one table most months. Around Pokemon you will find Magic: The Gathering commander singles and sealed product, Yu-Gi-Oh! staples and structure decks, One Piece, Lorcana, Digimon and Dragon Ball Super. Sports card dealers cover baseball, football, basketball and hockey in both raw and graded form, with football drawing the most attention this time of year.

Saturday hours run 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission is free, parking is free, and there is no advance ticketing or VIP tier. Children are welcome at no charge, and several vendors keep affordable boxes so kids can buy something themselves rather than watching a parent shop.

The venue at 6 Elmhurst Street is an active card shop, so supplies are on the shelf and the counter is open for buying and selling throughout the event. If you are thinking about selling a collection, you can get a shop quote and separately shop it to individual vendors in the same visit, which is a useful way to gauge what your material is actually worth. Restrooms are on site and the lot handles a full show comfortably.

Who should attend: Peninsula collectors who would rather not cross the water, Pokemon players and collectors at any level, families looking for a low-cost Saturday, and traders who want an active binder-swapping crowd. Newcomers do well here because the room is small enough that vendors have time to explain what they are selling and why it is priced the way it is.

Tips: arrive at opening for the best selection, since strong singles and well-priced slabs move in the first two hours. Bring cash in small bills. Keep a want list organized by set and card number so you can scan a binder quickly. Ask about bundle pricing before buying multiple singles from one vendor, because most will discount. Take a full lap before spending, since duplicate stock at different prices is normal. If you are selling, bring your cards sorted, sleeved and priced, and know your recent sold comps so you can respond to an offer without guessing.

Check the 757 Cards & Cabinets Facebook page in the days before October 17 for the vendor list, confirmed hours and any weekend promotions.
