About This Event

The Poke Craft & Card Show closes out its late-August weekend run at 757 Cards & Cabinets in Newport News on Sunday, August 30, 2026, and it is one of the friendliest ways to spend a Sunday morning in Hampton Roads if trading cards are your thing. This is a shop-hosted show rather than a convention-center production, which means the vibe is closer to a neighborhood block party than a trade expo. Dealers set up across the store and the adjoining lot, regulars know each other by name, and nobody is in a rush to move you along.

Pokemon is the headliner. Expect sealed product from current Scarlet & Violet era sets alongside older Sword & Shield boxes, single cards sorted into binders by set and rarity, graded slabs in the PSA 8 to PSA 10 range, and a healthy supply of Japanese imports that are hard to find anywhere else on the Peninsula. Beyond Pokemon, vendors regularly bring Magic: The Gathering commander staples and bulk rares, Yu-Gi-Oh! meta decks and structure decks, One Piece and Lorcana singles, and Dragon Ball Super boxes. The sports side is smaller but real: Panini and Topps baseball, football and basketball, vintage commons boxes worth digging through, and the occasional vintage star card in a case.

Hours run 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday. Doors open on time and the first two hours are the busiest, since Saturday shoppers who came up short come back for round two. Admission is free and so is parking; the lot at 6 Elmhurst Street holds a good number of cars and street parking is easy on a Sunday morning. There is no ticketing system and no advance purchase, so you can simply show up.

The venue is a working card shop, so restrooms, card supplies, and a counter for buying and selling are all right there. If you want top loaders, penny sleeves, binder pages or a new deck box, you can grab them on site instead of digging through your car. The shop also buys collections, so if you are downsizing, bring what you have and ask about a quote.

Who should come: families with kids who are just starting a Pokemon binder, Peninsula collectors who want a low-pressure Sunday, deck builders hunting singles at reasonable prices, and anyone who prefers a fifty-table room to a five-hundred-table hall. It is a genuinely good first show for someone new to the hobby, because vendors here have time to answer questions.

Tips for a good visit: bring cash, since a few smaller vendors are cash-only and card readers can be slow. Write a want list before you go and keep it on your phone. Arrive within the first hour if you are chasing specific singles, but come near the end of the day if you want to negotiate, because dealers who would rather not repack are more flexible after 2:00 PM. Bring a binder of your own trades; the trading culture at this show is active and generous.
