Poke Craft & Card Show takes over 757 Cards & Cabinets in Newport News on Saturday, September 26, 2026, opening the first half of a two-day weekend event on the Virginia Peninsula. Saturday is the bigger of the two days, with the fullest vendor turnout, the most foot traffic and the best odds of finding something you did not expect. If you only make one of the two days, make it this one.
The show is built around Pokemon but is not limited to it. Vendors bring sealed product across current and recent sets, singles binders sorted by set and rarity, bulk boxes priced to move, and graded slabs in a wide range of grades and price points. Vintage WOTC-era cards appear regularly, and there is usually at least one dealer specializing in Japanese product. Around the Pokemon core you will find Magic: The Gathering commander singles and sealed, Yu-Gi-Oh! staples and structure decks, One Piece, Lorcana and Dragon Ball Super. Sports card dealers hold down a corner with baseball, football and basketball across modern and vintage, plus the occasional box of graded material.
Saturday hours run 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, a longer day than the Sunday session. Admission is free and parking is free. There is no ticket to buy in advance and no early-access tier, so the line at 9:00 AM is simply whoever showed up. Kids are welcome and several vendors keep low-priced boxes specifically so younger collectors can buy something with their own money.
The venue at 6 Elmhurst Street is a functioning card shop, which is a real advantage. Supplies are on the shelf if you need sleeves, top loaders or binder pages. The shop counter buys and sells, so if you are looking to offload part of a collection you can get a quote on the spot. Restrooms are on site and the lot handles the crowd without difficulty.
Who should attend: Peninsula collectors who do not want to drive across the water, Pokemon players and collectors of every level, families looking for an affordable Saturday outing, and sellers who want to compare a shop offer against what individual vendors will pay. The atmosphere is relaxed enough that browsing without buying is perfectly normal.
Tips: arrive at opening if you want first look at fresh inventory, because the strongest singles and the best-priced slabs are usually gone by late morning. Bring cash and small bills. Keep a want list on your phone organized by set. Walk the entire room before you spend, since duplicate stock at different prices is common. If you are trading, bring your binder organized and know roughly what your cards are worth so negotiations move quickly. And if you plan to come both days, ask vendors on Saturday whether they will be back Sunday, because some will hold a card for you until the next morning.
