TheSportsBase expands to a full weekend at Sports Basement Fountain Valley on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4, 2026, giving Orange County collectors two days of free buying, selling and trading in the same weekend as the USA Card Show in Irvine and the Tustin Tiller Days card show. If you want to hit several shows without paying admission at any of them, this is the anchor.
Vendors bring a balanced mix. Sports card tables cover MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL, with plenty of Dodgers and Angels material as the baseball postseason gets underway, plus vintage, inserts and graded rookies. Trading card game tables lean on Pokemon, One Piece, Disney Lorcana and Magic: The Gathering, with sealed product, singles and slabs. Memorabilia, Funko Pops, comics and other collectibles fill in the edges.
Hours are Saturday 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission is free both days and parking is free in the Sports Basement lot. Vendor tables are booked only through promoter Andy K at (714) 425-7722; the promoter warns that anyone else offering tables in comments or private messages is a scammer, so do not send payment to anyone else.
The store is at 10800 Kalama River Ave, Fountain Valley, CA 92708, off Brookhurst Street near the 405 Freeway. The building has restrooms, a cafe corner and a big free lot, and Brookhurst and Warner Avenue offer dozens of restaurants for a lunch break. From Santa Ana, allow about fifteen minutes via Harbor Boulevard or the 405.
Who it suits: families and kids, since entry is free and the store setting is easy to navigate; casual sports collectors looking for reasonably priced singles; and Pokemon and One Piece collectors who prefer a compact show. Serious buyers should come Saturday morning for selection and Sunday afternoon for deals, when vendors would rather sell than pack up.
Tips: Saturday at 10 AM is the time for first pick of vintage and graded cards; Sunday after 2 PM is the time to negotiate. Bring cash, a want list and a trade binder, and protect raw purchases with sleeves and toploaders. If you are selling a collection, contact the promoter in advance so buying vendors are ready for you. Plan the weekend: Saturday morning here, Saturday afternoon at USA Card Show Irvine, Saturday evening at Tiller Days in Tustin, and back here Sunday for a second pass. Sunday's shorter 4 PM close means vendors start breaking down around 3, so if you are hunting bargains do not wait until the last half hour. Sports Basement itself carries baseball and softball gear, so young collectors who came for Dodgers cards can leave with a glove too, which makes it an easy family outing.
