The Ballgame

Six Mile Cypress shop running singles across six card games plus sports wax, with a sneaker wall that makes it the odd hybrid of the Fort Myers scene.

The Ballgame does not fit the usual template. Alongside a card counter carrying Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, Disney Lorcana, Flesh and Blood, Star Wars: Unlimited and sports, the store runs a serious sneaker business — the kind where a customer's review is as likely to be about an exchange on a pair of Foamrunners as about a booster box. If that combination sounds strange, it works: the Six Mile Cypress Parkway location pulls two different crowds through the same door.

On the card side, breadth is the advantage. Six supported games is more than most shops this size attempt, and it means Lorcana and Flesh and Blood players in Lee County have somewhere local to buy singles instead of ordering online. Sports cards round it out for collectors who want wax rather than TCG product.

Service is where reviewers land. One customer described buying online, finding the fit wrong, and having a staff member call the owner to authorize an exchange that normally would not be allowed — the sort of discretion that only happens at a store where the people behind the counter are trusted to use it.

Hours run 11AM to 7PM Monday through Thursday, opening an hour earlier at 10AM on Friday and Saturday, and 11AM to 5PM on Sunday — open all seven days. The 6 Mile Cypress corridor is straightforward to reach from I-75 and parking is easy. A note on the numbers below: the rating and review count are estimates, as this shop's Google aggregate was not independently confirmable at the time of listing.
