An 8AM open makes this the only Fort Myers card shop you can hit before work, backed by a sports inventory measured in the millions across every major league.
Most card shops do not unlock the door until noon. AVZEN opens at eight, Monday through Friday — a schedule that comes from the wholesale side of the business and happens to make it the only place in Fort Myers where you can browse sports singles before your first meeting.
The scale behind the counter is the selling point. AVZEN runs one of the larger sports-card operations in southwest Florida, with inventory spanning baseball, football, basketball, hockey, soccer and wrestling, and sealed boxes stacked alongside the singles. Vintage finds sit next to product that came off the press this month. If you collect something specific and obscure, the odds here are better than at a shop working from one display case.
The store on South Tamiami Trail is bright and tightly organized — reviewers consistently describe it as clean and easy to navigate, which matters when the inventory is this large. One customer called it the best sports card shop they had ever been to and singled out staff who behave like collectors rather than clerks, including unprompted advice on protecting cards after purchase.
Worth knowing before you go: a minority of reviewers have pushed back on pricing, arguing some cards sit above comparable listings. Check a comp on anything expensive, as you would anywhere. Hours run 8AM to 6PM Monday through Friday, 11AM to 6PM Saturday, and 11AM to 4PM Sunday, so the shop is open seven days. It also sells online, which is a fair way to scout stock before driving down to the south Fort Myers stretch of 41.
