VeeFriends TCG: How to Play and Where to Compete
The VeeFriends Trading Card Game in plain English: Aura, Skill and Stamina, the race to seven, the Play Network, and how the 2026 championship works.
The VeeFriends Trading Card Game turns the characters into a head-to-head game. It is quick to learn — every card has three numbers, and you win by being the first to seven points in one of them — and it has an organised play scene with sanctioned events, qualifiers and an annual championship.
How the game works
Every VeeFriends character card carries three attributes: Aura, Skill and Stamina. Players battle using those numbers, and the first player to collect seven points in a single attribute wins the match. Rarity matters too: rarer versions of a character carry stronger numbers.
That is the whole core loop, which is why the game suits newer players and families. VeeFriends publishes the full rules and the complete card list on its site; the official TCG checklist and collector's guide is the place to start.
Where to play
The VeeFriends TCG Play Network at play.veefriends.com is the official hub. Players create an account to register for events; organisers, including card shops, use it to list sanctioned tournaments.
Card shows are the other place VeeFriends play turns up: the 2026 championship's final qualifiers ran at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25 and at The National on July 31. Browse our card show calendar for shows near you, and our guide to The National.
Your local card shop may run casual nights. Ask — and if a shop near you is interested in hosting, the Play Network is where they register events.
The 2026 VeeFriends TCG Championship
- Where and when: New York City, in October 2026.
- Who plays: the top 64 players on the official VeeFriends leaderboard, built from results at qualifiers and sanctioned events.
- Format: five rounds of Swiss play at 25 minutes a round, then the top 16 advance to single elimination.
Check the Play Network for the exact date and any spectator details — we will update this page when they are confirmed.
Collecting vs. playing
You do not have to choose. The Topps Chrome sets are built for collecting — refractors, numbered parallels, autographs — while the TCG is built for play. If you are new, decide which one you want first: for collecting, start with the 2026 Chrome set; for playing, start with the official rules and a local event.
