Where to Buy VeeFriends Cards Near You (2026)
Hobby vs. retail boxes, which stores carry 2026 Topps Chrome VeeFriends, and how to get a release-day box from a local card shop.
VeeFriends cards are sold in more places than most non-sport sets, but not every store carries every box. The short version: hobby boxes come from local card shops, GameStop and online hobby retailers; the cheaper retail boxes come from Target, GameStop and Dick's. Here is where to look, and how to make sure a box is waiting for you on release day.
Hobby boxes vs. retail boxes
For 2026 Topps Chrome VeeFriends there are three box types:
- Hobby box — 18 packs of 4 cards (72 cards). The only box with the full refractor ladder at the listed odds, plus hobby-exclusive parallels. Launched at $239.99 on presale and $249.99 on release day.
- Mega box — 8 packs of 7 cards.
- Value box — 8 packs of 4 cards.
If you are chasing numbered parallels or autographs, you want hobby. If you want to open something with a kid or try the set, retail is fine.

How to get a box from a local shop on release day
- Call a week ahead. Ask whether the shop ordered hobby boxes and how many. Shops get a set allocation, and popular releases are often spoken for before they arrive.
- Ask about holds and pre-orders. Many shops will hold a box for a deposit, especially for regulars.
- Ask about single packs. If a whole box is more than you want, a lot of shops break boxes into packs.
- Check the shop first. Use our guide to questions to ask a card shop before you buy, and see what to expect on a first visit.
Buying online and in breaks
Secondary-market box prices move around after release, so compare a few sellers before you pay over list. If you would rather buy a share than a whole box, live breaks on Whatnot are the most common route — our guides cover how breaks work and how to find a good breaker.
