Upscale Trading Cards

North First Avenue shop built around graded cards — the only Evansville counter offering in-store card grading, plus UFC, WWE and soccer.

Most card shops send grading submissions off in a bubble mailer and hope. Upscale Trading Cards handles grading in-store, which as far as the tri-state goes makes it the only counter where you can hand over a raw card and talk through the process face to face. That single service is why collectors from across the river make the drive to North First Avenue.

The inventory leans toward what actually trades: football, basketball and baseball first, then soccer, UFC, WWE and hockey — a wider combat-sports and international selection than you'll find at a typical Evansville card shop. Pokemon is stocked as well. The emphasis throughout is on graded and grade-worthy material, with trending rookies and current releases in the cases rather than buried in a longbox.

Hospitality is what shows up in review after review, and specifically the willingness to let a new customer take their time. One collector describes spending nearly two hours on a first visit and leaving treated like a regular — the kind of detail that separates a shop from a storefront.

Weekday hours run 11AM to 6PM Monday through Friday. Saturday is the long day at 10AM to 7PM and the best window for grading conversations, and Sunday is a short 11AM to 3PM. Global shipping is available if you're buying remotely.

Note that the shop has operated from more than one Evansville address; the current location is 3830 N First Ave, 47710. Call 812-303-2701 before a long drive.
