Destiny Games

Two-sided Livonia shop on Newburgh Road: retro and modern video games on one side, MTG and Pokemon singles plus Pokemon cups and Lorcana nights on the other.

Destiny Games on Newburgh Road splits its personality down the middle, literally. One entrance leads into the retail side, packed with modern and retro video games, consoles and accessories; the other opens onto a dedicated tabletop and trading card space with long tables that usually have a casual game going. For card players, that second room is the reason to visit.

On the TCG side, Destiny stocks Magic: The Gathering and Pokemon as its core games, with an online singles catalog and a buylist for both. The shop runs organized play through the week, including Pokemon league play and cup-level competitions, Magic events, and sanctioned Disney Lorcana on Tuesdays. Board game nights and D&D content fill out the calendar. Players looking for trading cards in Livonia's southwest corner will find it a convenient alternative to the busier shops along the Five Mile and Middlebelt corridors.

The video game half isn't just a sideshow. Destiny repairs consoles and controllers, buys and sells games across generations, and runs a rewards program with a military discount, so a visit can easily cover a Pokemon booster box and a hard-to-find Switch title in one trip.

Hours are simple: noon to 9PM Monday through Saturday and noon to 6PM on Sunday. Evenings are when the play room is busiest; early afternoons are better for browsing singles and asking about the buylist. The store sits in a plaza near Newburgh and Joy roads with its own parking. Check the weekly events page on the shop's website before going, since event formats rotate.
