RIW Hobbies & Games

Livonia's big-box hobby hub on Five Mile Road, stocked deep in MTG, Pokemon and One Piece singles with prereleases, Pauper events and leagues most nights.

RIW Hobbies & Games is one of the anchors of the metro Detroit gaming scene, and its Five Mile Road store in Livonia shows why. The building is large, clean and laid out in clear zones: glass cases and binders of singles up front, sealed product along the walls, a deep miniatures and hobby-supply section, and a wide event floor that rarely sits empty. Players regularly drive in from across the western suburbs for it.

The card lineup is broad. Magic: The Gathering is a particular strength, with an unusually wide range of pack and set options plus a dedicated Pauper and Premodern following. Pokemon singles are organized in browseable binders and cases, and the shop also supports Yu-Gi-Oh!, Lorcana, One Piece, Digimon, Gundam, Star Wars Unlimited, Riftbound, CookieRun and more. A public buylist on the website lets you check what RIW will pay before you bring cards in. For anyone searching Pokemon cards Livonia or MTG singles in western Wayne County, this is the deepest stock in town.

Events are constant. The calendar carries prereleases for nearly every major release, weekly constructed nights, chaos drafts, Heroclix, D&D sessions, and the store's own Pauper championship series, and RIW tracks results on a public leaderboard. If you want to play rather than just shop, check the events page and register early for prereleases, which fill up.

Plan around the schedule: RIW is closed Mondays, open noon to 10PM Tuesday through Thursday, 11AM to 10PM Friday and Saturday, and noon to 7PM Sunday. Weekday afternoons are best for browsing singles without the event crowd. The strip-center lot on Five Mile has ample parking, and Middlebelt and I-96 are close by for out-of-town visitors.
