Millennial Toybox mixes 90s nostalgia toys with Pokemon TCG in south Lincoln, hosting Pokemon locals and learn-to-play sessions in its back event space.
Millennial Toybox is a nostalgia shop first and a Pokemon hangout second, and the combination works. The store at 5221 S 48th Street in south Lincoln is packed with toys, games and collectibles that will look familiar to anyone who grew up in the 1990s, with Pokemon cards woven right into the mix.
The Pokemon TCG side of the business is more than a few packs by the register. The shop stocks Pokemon product, runs weekly events and uses a dedicated space in the back for play. Pokemon local tournaments draw both regulars and visiting players, and the store is a good place to learn the game if you or your kids have been collecting without ever sitting down to battle. That makes it a natural stop for Pokemon cards in Lincoln when you want a family-friendly table rather than a high-pressure counter.
Outside of cards, the shelves rotate through retro toys, figures and pop-culture collectibles at reasonable prices, and the shop offers a less expected service: digitizing old photos. It is the kind of place where a parent can browse childhood favorites while the kids look at cards, and both leave with something. The store also sells online through its website.
Plan your visit carefully, because the schedule is compact. Millennial Toybox is open Wednesday 12PM-7PM and Thursday through Saturday 12PM-8PM, and closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Evenings later in the week are when events are most likely to be running, so check the store's event calendar or call 402-327-1405 to confirm the next tournament before you go.
The shop is in a small south Lincoln retail center with easy parking. If you are building a Pokemon deck for the first time or just want a relaxed place to open a few packs among the nostalgia, this south-side Lincoln card shop is worth adding to your rotation.
