Pokepawn Cardshop

Owner-run New Braunfels card shop on the I-35 frontage where Jacob and Marissa buy, sell, appraise and send Pokemon and sports cards out for PSA grading.

Pokepawn Cardshop occupies Suite 4115 on the I-35 north frontage road, which makes it the easiest card stop to reach in New Braunfels if you are coming off the interstate. Jacob and Marissa run the counter themselves, and that shows in how the business is structured: buying, selling, trading, appraisals and grading submissions are all handled in person rather than routed through a website.

The name points at Pokemon and the shop leans that way — sealed product, singles and the current sets — but Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh! are stocked too, and there is a real sports side, with cards taken in for PSA submission for collectors who do not want to package and ship their own. Live box breaks run out of the shop as well, which is a different kind of visit than browsing a singles case and worth timing around if that is your interest.

The schedule is the thing to check before driving over, because it is narrower than most shops on this list. Pokepawn is closed Monday and Tuesday entirely. Wednesday and Thursday run 11AM to 6PM, Friday and Saturday extend to 11AM to 7PM, and Sunday returns to 11AM to 6PM. A weekend afternoon is the reliable bet; a Monday drive-by is a wasted trip.

At 4.8 stars across 148 Google reviews, this is one of the highest-rated Pokemon card New Braunfels destinations, and the reviews are unusually consistent about why. Almost none of them lead with inventory. They lead with the owners — customers describe being greeted by name, walked through pricing, and treated like regulars on a first visit. For a hobby where a lot of transactions feel adversarial, that reputation is the shop's actual asset.

If you are bringing in a collection to sell or a card to appraise, call 830-312-7368 ahead of the visit. Same for grading submissions, where knowing the current turnaround before you hand cards over saves a second trip.
