The Hive's story is the reason to know about it. In-store play is the stated direction of travel. Laws has publicly outlined plans for competitive Magic, competitive Pokemon and competitive Yu-Gi-Oh! nights, and the hours are built around it: the shop opens at noon six days a week and pushes to 10PM on Fridays. That Friday extension is the natural evening-play slot, and it is the one day worth choosing if you want the room busy rather than quiet.
