King's Landing Games

A Charizard in the store logo and six local craft beers on tap is not a combination you find at most game stores, and that contrast is the whole appeal of King's Landing Games. This S Valley Mills Drive spot operates as a full gaming cafe and card shop in one, serving coffee, tea, ramen, biscuits and gravy, and even custom mimosas up front while the trading card action lives down the hallway in the back game room.

Card players have real reasons to make the drive. The shop is an official Pokemon League location and a Wizards of the Coast WPN store, with a monthly events calendar that keeps something running nearly every day — Pokemon League nights, Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments, and D&D groups all rotate through the free play space and back event room. The Magic singles wall in the rear room draws regular praise from traveling players, and sealed product spans Pokemon, MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh, and One Piece.

The store shares ownership with Bankston's Comics one block away, giving this stretch of S Valley Mills Drive an unusual density of collecting options — vintage sports cards at one address, trading cards Waco players actually compete with at the other. King's Landing also claims the largest board game selection in the city, plus Warhammer kits, paints, and RPG shelves, and staff take special orders for anything not in stock.

Doors open at 11AM Tuesday through Saturday with a 9PM close, Sundays run noon to 6PM, and Mondays are dark. Weekend mornings are quietest for browsing; evenings belong to league play and the cafe crowd.
