Magic and Pokemon share a compact Crossroads Center suite with Warhammer, back-issue comics and a special-order desk that will chase down anything missing.

Galaxy Books & Comics relocated from Kemp Boulevard to a suite in Crossroads Center, and the new address puts it directly beside Cards & Culture — two very different shops within a few steps of each other on Southwest Parkway. Galaxy is the generalist of the pair: new comics and back issues up front, Magic: The Gathering and Pokemon card stock in the middle, Warhammer and miniature wargaming supplies, board games, dice and action figures filling the remaining wall space.

The special-order desk is what regulars mention first. If the shelf does not have it, the staff will place the order — a small thing that matters in a market this size, where waiting on a distributor beats driving to Dallas. Magic: The Gathering game nights run in the shop's play area, though the schedule is not published online; call before making the trip if organized play is the reason you are going.

Hours split by day: closed Monday, 11AM to 6PM Tuesday through Thursday, and open an hour later to 7PM on Friday and Saturday. Closed Sunday. Friday evening is the busiest window and the best bet for finding other players in the room.

Be realistic about the space. Several reviewers note that the suite is cramped and limits how much can be displayed at once, which affects the card selection more than the comic selection. Customer service also draws mixed reactions — the shop has enthusiastic regulars and a handful of vocal detractors, and both patterns show up consistently enough to mention. Judge for yourself on a first visit.

What the shop does well is breadth in a small footprint.
