Big, table-filled Kennewick game store for Magic players: rows of collector boosters, a solid singles case, weekly tournaments and Lorcana and Pokemon packs.
Tri Cities Gaming is built for people who want to play. The large storefront on West Clearwater Avenue devotes much of its floor to clean play tables, and on most evenings they're filled with Magic: The Gathering players working through a draft, a Commander pod or a competitive event.
Magic is the core of the business. The shelves carry an unusually broad spread of booster boxes, including collector boosters from a range of sets, and the singles case is deep enough to help finish a deck without ordering online. The shop also maintains a TCGplayer storefront, which is handy for checking stock before you visit. Pokemon and Lorcana packs are stocked for collectors and casual players, along with sleeves, deck boxes and other supplies.
The event calendar is what keeps the regulars coming back. Weekly gatherings, tournament play and qualifier events give the store a clubhouse feel, and longtime players describe it as the place where the local Magic community reconnects. Tables can also be reserved for private play, and the shop books birthday parties and group events. Board games such as Catan, Ticket to Ride, Scythe and Pandemic, plus Dungeons & Dragons, round out the selection for non-card nights.
Hours run noon to 9PM Monday through Saturday and noon to 7PM on Sunday, so it's an easy after-work stop. If you're looking for MTG singles or a game in Kennewick, check the calendar on the shop's website first, since event nights fill the tables quickly. Casual players and visitors passing through town are welcome to drop in during open play hours, and the staff are happy to help you pick out packs.
