Cobra Cards

Family-run and sports-first, Cobra Cards is the Dothan shop for baseball and football singles, sealed wax and live group breaks, with a Pokemon shelf too.

Cobra Cards is the one shop in Dothan whose identity is sports-first. The family that runs it describes the business as specializing in sports cards and memorabilia, and the inventory follows: singles, sealed boxes and a steady rotation of cardboard across baseball, football and basketball. Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering get shelf space as well, but the sports counter is why most people walk in.

Group breaks are the real differentiator. Cobra Cards runs live breaks and has built a following around them — a dedicated Facebook buy, sell and trade group, a YouTube channel, and a few thousand Instagram followers watching boxes get opened. If you have never bought into a break, this is the Dothan storefront where someone will walk you through it in person instead of leaving you to guess from a livestream.

They buy, too. Several reviewers describe bringing collections in and getting fair numbers back. One customer who had been dealing with the shop for close to a year wrote that he had sold many cards to them and always received fair pricing, and recommended stopping by whether you are buying or unloading. Another review captures the other half of the customer base: a dad whose son picked out his first Pokemon box there as a birthday present.

Hours are the tightest constraint here. Cobra Cards is open Tuesday through Saturday, 11AM to 6PM, and closed Sunday and Monday. There are no evening hours and no play space, so treat this as a daytime browse-and-buy stop rather than a hangout — a lunch break or a Saturday morning works best.

You will find the shop at 560 Westgate Parkway, Suite 6, Dothan, AL 36303, phone (334) 479-8195. It is a Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce member and keeps an online store running if you want to scan inventory first. Note that some older directories still carry a 1230 Westgate Parkway address; Suite 6 at 560 Westgate is the current location.
