Geekz Haven

Weekly Magic, Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments and a console-lined gaming area make Geekz Haven the highest-rated card shop in Dothan. Midnight close Fridays.

Geekz Haven bills itself as a gaming store for everyone, and the floor plan backs that up. Alongside the card cases the owner has built out a gaming area with televisions, consoles and tables so customers can sit down and actually play. That room is a big part of why the shop carries a 4.8-star average across more than 130 Google reviews, the strongest rating of any card shop in Dothan.

Weekly tournaments run for Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh!, with Warhammer and Dungeons & Dragons tables sharing the same space. The retail side pairs sealed wax with binders of singles and adds sports cards, Warhammer miniatures, anime and superhero merchandise, and pop-culture collectibles. They also cut custom car decals and license plates, which is not something most Dothan card shops will quote you on.

Reviews sort into two camps and both are worth knowing. An August 2025 customer called it an amazing shop with great employees and noted the owner is an enthusiast himself. Other visitors have described slow communication on special orders and a hands-off sales floor — one browsed for over an hour without anyone checking in. If you need something ordered or want a recommendation, ask directly at the counter rather than waiting to be approached.

The calendar is the thing to plan around. Geekz Haven is closed Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday run 1PM to 9PM, Saturday opens at noon and closes at 10PM, and Friday goes until midnight — the latest close of any shop in the Wiregrass and the natural night for tournament play.

One caution on the address. Directory listings still split between Montgomery Highway and a former Ross Clark Circle unit, a legacy of the shop's earlier moves. The current address is 3201 Montgomery Highway, Suite 6, Dothan, AL 36303, and a quick call to (334) 655-8014 will confirm before you drive over. The building has a wheelchair-accessible entrance and lot parking.
