Closed Tuesdays, open till 10PM on weekends: The Hobby Hub is Dothan's WPN store, with sanctioned Pokemon league play and eight TCGs on the shelf.
Ask around Dothan for a card shop with real organized play and the answer is usually The Hobby Hub. It holds Wizards Play Network status for Magic: The Gathering and runs a sanctioned Pokemon TCG League, which puts it in a small group of Wiregrass stores where the tournament calendar is an actual schedule rather than a promise on a whiteboard.
Inventory spans eight trading card games — Pokemon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Lorcana, Flesh and Blood, Star Wars Unlimited and Union Arena — plus tabletop RPGs, board games, comics, toys and the accessories that go with all of it. Sealed booster boxes and singles both. Reviewers keep landing on the same two words for the space: organized and well set up, which in a hobby shop usually means the singles are genuinely sorted and you can find the binder you want without flagging someone down.
Staff get named by name in reviews. A September 2025 visitor singled out Tanner and the rest of the crew, writing that calling them knowledgeable would be an understatement. A spring 2025 customer came in for a Pokemon trade and left with cards they had been chasing plus a couple they had not known they wanted until they saw them.
Plan around the schedule, because it is unusual. The Hobby Hub is closed all day Tuesday. Monday is a short noon-to-6PM day. Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday run until 8PM, and Friday and Saturday stretch to 10PM. Those late nights are when the play space fills, so aim there if you want games rather than just shopping.
Two housekeeping notes. The shop moved: older listings still show 3201 Montgomery Highway, but the current storefront is about a mile up the road at 2576 Montgomery Highway, Unit 06. And while in-store reviews run consistently strong, at least one customer has raised concerns about sealed product bought through the website — buying in person lets you inspect what you are paying for. The store line is (334) 803-0462.
