Long-hours Queen Creek TCG hub for Pokemon, Magic, One Piece and Yu-Gi-Oh, with sports-card value boxes and a Warhammer room next door.
Few card stores in the East Valley keep the doors open as late as Baxter's. The San Tan Boulevard shop runs 9AM to 9PM most days and stays open until 11PM on Friday and Saturday, which makes it a natural after-work or after-practice stop for Queen Creek players who cannot get to a store during business hours.
Despite the sports cards in its name, the heart of Baxter's is trading card games. Pokemon sealed product and singles take up a large share of the floor, and the shop also stocks Magic: The Gathering, One Piece and Yu-Gi-Oh, along with sleeves, deck boxes and playmats. Baxter's has expanded into neighboring suites along the same strip, with a space focused on Magic and One Piece and another devoted to Warhammer 40K and Age of Sigmar miniatures and Citadel paints. Sports collectors will find a smaller selection here, mostly packs and discount value boxes that are fun to dig through, so serious case-hit hunters may want to call ahead.
For anyone searching for a Queen Creek card shop that also handles comics, Baxter's runs a comic pull-list subscription and takes pre-orders on new TCG sets. Its online buylist lets you submit cards you want to sell, and Magic players can send in a deck list to have a deck pulled together. Staff are known for walking newer players through how to get started, which is helpful for families exploring Magic or Pokemon for the first time.
Plan visits around the late weekend hours if you want a livelier evening crowd, or come mid-morning on a weekday for quieter browsing. The store shares a parking lot with The Monster Card Shop a few doors down, so it is easy to compare prices on sealed product between the two in a single trip.
