Nimbus brings east-side Tucson Pokemon, One Piece, MTG and Yu-Gi-Oh singles, Japanese and Chinese Pokemon sets, weekly tournaments and TAG/Beckett grading help.
Out on Tucson's far east side, where Harrison Road meets Speedway, Nimbus Cards & Games has carved out a spot as a neighborhood hub for card players who used to drive across town. The shop at 60 N Harrison Rd, Suite 140A, mixes a trading card counter, a Warhammer corner and a retro gaming lounge under one roof.
Cards are the heart of it. Nimbus carries Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dragon Ball Super and the Gundam Card Game, with singles, sealed product, sleeves and binders on hand. Pokemon collectors should look for the Japanese and Chinese sets, which are hard to find on shelves in southern Arizona. Pricing tends to sit at or under market, which is a big part of why the shop has picked up a loyal following for Pokemon cards in Tucson.
The event calendar is busy. Weekly play spans Pokemon League, One Piece, Gundam, Digimon, Dragon Ball Super, several Magic formats and prereleases, plus Warhammer 40K on two dedicated tables with store armies for newcomers. Schedules shift, so follow the shop's social media for the current week. There is also a retro console lounge with N64, GameCube and Xbox 360 titles at $5 per hour, and occasional retro tournaments for games like Halo, Smash Bros. and GoldenEye.
For collectors chasing slabs, Nimbus offers a grading service: staff pre-grade, package and ship submissions to TAG and Beckett for a $10 fee per submission, which saves you the hassle of doing it yourself.
Hours run 1PM-9PM Monday through Friday, 11AM-9PM on Saturday and 12PM-7PM on Sunday, so weekday visits are an after-lunch or after-school plan. Evenings are the social time, when tables fill for events; early afternoons are best for browsing binders and asking about a specific single. Parking is right out front in the strip center.
