Forty years in Boulder and newly settled on Arapahoe Ave, stocking Magic and Pokemon alongside back issues that earned it a Denver Post best-in-Colorado nod.
Time Warp has been part of Boulder since 1984 — long enough to collect an Eisner Spirit of Comics Award nomination and a Denver Post nod as the best place to buy comics in Colorado. In 2025 the store moved to a larger unit on Arapahoe Avenue, and customers who walked in mid-move reported being welcomed anyway, boxes and all.
For card players, the draw is a trading-card section that sits inside a much bigger specialty store rather than standing alone. Magic: The Gathering and Pokemon are both stocked in packs and singles, with supplies on hand, and the surrounding inventory — new comics, hard-to-find back issues, manga, graphic novels, statues, miniatures, posters and anime — is deep enough that visitors have compared the selection favorably to Mile High Comics in Denver, which is the largest comic store in the country.
Weekly tabletop role-playing events run out of the store, which gives the place a rhythm beyond retail hours. Staff have a reputation for genuinely knowing the catalog rather than pointing at a shelf, a trait that has survived four decades and at least one address.
Hours are consistent and easy to plan around: 10AM to 6PM Monday through Saturday, with a later 11AM open on Sunday, seven days a week. The Arapahoe Avenue location has its own parking, a real improvement over the old 28th Street spot, and sits on a straightforward east-west route across Boulder. If you are visiting more than one Boulder card shop in a day, this and CollecTons on 30th Street are only a few minutes apart.
