Common Room Games

East-side Bloomington game store stocking Magic singles plus sealed Pokemon, Lorcana, and Flesh & Blood, with a games library and rentable play room.

Common Room Games has served Bloomington's tabletop community from Williamsburg Village on the near east side for well over a decade, and it runs deeper than a typical retail floor. Alongside sealed product for Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Flesh & Blood, and Lorcana, the store buys and sells Magic singles — making it the east-side counterweight to Bloomington's west-side card stops.

What separates Common Room from most any card shop in Bloomington is infrastructure for actually playing. There's an in-store games library with hundreds of titles, a private room that groups can reserve for campaigns and game nights, and a packed event calendar spanning Magic events, Pathfinder and Starfinder Society, and D&D Adventurers League. The store also acts as a hub for local gaming groups, from board game meetups to RPG organized play — a genuine community fixture for the Indiana University crowd and townies alike.

Hours run noon to 10PM Monday through Friday, noon to 6PM Saturday, and noon to 8PM Sunday — late weeknight hours that most retail card stores don't touch, which matters when a Commander pod wants to fire at 8PM on a Tuesday. Note the store closes for major holidays and, charmingly, all four days of GenCon.

For collectors, the Magic singles case is the main event, with sealed trading cards in Bloomington's newer games — Lorcana and Flesh & Blood especially — better represented here than anywhere else in town. The staff's game knowledge runs deep and opinions come honestly; ask what's worth playing and you'll get a real answer. Find it at 223 S Pete Ellis Dr at the north end of Williamsburg Village, with parking out front.
