Dice City Games

Georgia Avenue mainstay where Magic and Pokemon singles sit alongside a boxed NES wall, with play running late Tuesday through Friday.

Dice City Games is the Silver Spring card shop that stayed open late. Doors do not unlock until 2PM Tuesday through Friday, but they stay open until 9:30PM — a schedule built around evening play rather than lunchtime browsing. The Georgia Avenue location has accumulated 344 Google reviews at a 4.6 average, which is a lot of foot traffic for a shop north of downtown.

The crowd is the thing regulars mention first: board gamers, Magic players, D&D groups and retro video game collectors all sharing the same room on a given night. That last group is not an afterthought — the store keeps a genuinely large retro video game section, and one reviewer singled out the boxed NES collection as startling in scope. If you came for Pokemon singles and left with a Super Nintendo cartridge, you would not be the first.

On the card side, the shop runs an active TCGplayer storefront, so inventory is browsable before you drive over — worth doing if you are hunting a specific single rather than digging. Sealed product, sleeves and deck boxes round out the retail wall.

Timing notes: closed Mondays entirely. Weekends open earlier and close earlier — noon to 8PM Saturday, noon to 7PM Sunday. The shop sits in a strip along Georgia Avenue with parking out front, an easy stop if you are coming down from Wheaton or up from downtown Silver Spring. Weeknight evenings are when the tables fill.
