About The Shop

Sports cards, Pokemon, and retro consoles share a Miller Hill Mall floor here, with hooked-up TVs so you can test a cartridge before buying it.

Game On opened in late September 2018 in the old Best Buy Mobile kiosk space at Miller Hill Mall and has been part of the Duluth card shop landscape ever since. In 2025 it moved to a larger unit inside the same mall, so older directions placing it between American Eagle and Old Navy are out of date — check the mall directory or call before you walk the loop looking for it.

The inventory splits roughly three ways. Sports trading cards and memorabilia occupy the counter cases, Pokemon fills the sealed and singles side, and the rest of the floor is retro video games: cartridges and discs from the NES era forward, consoles, controllers, and accessories. Mixed in are vinyl records, action figures, Legos, and a small run of beer memorabilia that is genuinely unusual for a card shop.

The best thing the shop does is let you try before you buy. A pair of TVs is wired to retro consoles on the sales floor, so a questionable cartridge can be tested on the spot rather than gambled on. That setup, plus a counter that buys as readily as it sells, makes Game On worth a stop even on a trip aimed at another store.

Be aware of the reviews before you go. Game On carries the lowest rating of any card shop in the city, and the complaints cluster on two things: sealed product priced at or above secondary market, and staff conduct. Against that, several detailed positive reviews single out an employee named Nate for going out of his way — packing loose cards for a traveler heading overseas, and talking two kids new to Pokemon through their first pulls with the owner throwing in extras. Experiences here seem to depend heavily on who is working.

Hours run 10AM to 7PM Monday through Saturday and 11AM to 6PM Sunday, though the surrounding mall stays open until 8PM most nights, so confirm the closing time if you are arriving late. Free mall parking, indoor storefront, easy to combine with the other two card shops under the same roof.

5 stars for Nate, great guy, really nice, exactly who i want to see working in a store like that. I'm from out of the country and upon hearing that he immediately gave me some things to make sure any cards I pull stay protected for the travel back.

Nate was so kind to my family! My two kids just got into Pokemon and he and the owner were kind enough to give us good deals and a bunch of random cards that my kids went crazy over!

Employees are very rude and use foul language often. They also have people go to stores to mass buy products so they are the only ones with product and all of their prices are at market or above.
