Buzz City Games

Downtown Concord shop on Union Street known for strong prerelease stock, organized play most nights, and open doors seven days a week.

Right on Union Street North in downtown Concord, Buzz City Games has the address most local players rattle off without thinking. Number 4 puts it in the heart of the historic district, walkable from the courthouse square, and it has accumulated 232 Google reviews at a 4.7 average, which makes it one of the most reviewed card shops in Cabarrus County.

Prerelease stock is what regulars praise first. When a set drops, Buzz City tends to have depth that larger stores in the Charlotte metro run out of, and staff organize events around the releases rather than just putting boxes on a shelf. That combination of inventory and scheduling is why the shop punches above its footprint.

The play calendar runs most nights, which the hours are built to support. Doors open at noon Monday through Friday, closing at 9PM on weeknights and stretching to 11PM on Friday. Saturday runs 11AM to 8PM and Sunday noon to 6PM. Seven days a week, no dark days, which is rarer than it sounds in this part of North Carolina.

Pokemon, Magic and the wider TCG shelf all get attention here, and the singles side is active enough that trading among regulars is part of the room's normal rhythm. If you are searching for a Concord card shop where you can actually sit down and play the same day you buy, this is the most reliable option on the list.

Downtown parking is the main logistical wrinkle. Street spaces on Union fill during evening dining hours, but the surrounding blocks have public lots within a short walk. Arriving before 6PM on a Friday makes both parking and table space considerably easier.
