The Mighty Meeple

Late-night Concord hobby store near the speedway stocking Pokemon and Magic alongside a deep board game wall, open until 1AM on weekends.

Pit Stop Court is exactly the street name you would expect a few minutes from Charlotte Motor Speedway, and The Mighty Meeple occupies Suite 180 on it. With 864 Google reviews at a 4.7 average, it is the most reviewed hobby retailer in Concord by a wide margin, and the volume is a fair reflection of how much traffic moves through the doors.

The board game wall is the visual centerpiece, but trading cards hold real shelf space. Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering both get regular sealed product and singles attention, and the store keeps the ancillary supplies collectors actually need rather than a token rack of sleeves. Miniature games and role-playing systems fill out the remaining aisles.

Hours are the outlier here, in the best way. Monday through Thursday the store runs 11AM to 11PM. Friday and Saturday it stays open until 1AM. Sunday is the short day at 1PM to 9PM. If your schedule has only ever let you shop for Pokemon cards Concord-side after 9PM, this is essentially the one address that works.

Those late hours exist because the space is built for play, not just retail. Tables stay busy well past the point where most shops would be sweeping up, and the crowd skews toward groups who arrive together and stay. It is loud, in a good way, on a Friday night.

The Concord Mills area location means easy highway access and a large shared lot, so parking is never the problem it can be downtown. Suite 180 is signed clearly from the lot. If you want a quieter browse, a weekday afternoon between the lunch and evening rush is the sweet spot.
