Champion City Video Games

Springfield's busiest buy-sell-trade counter pairs retro consoles with deep Pokemon and sports card inventory, plus regular in-store card events.

Champion City Video Games sits on N Bechtle Avenue in Springfield's main retail corridor, and the name only tells half the story. Video games anchor one side of the store — retro through current generation — but the other half has grown into one of the area's most complete card destinations, with sealed product, singles cases, and a steady flow of sports card trade-ins moving through the counter.

The TCG wall covers Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering, and Yu-Gi-Oh!, with booster boxes and packs alongside a singles selection that regulars say is priced to move. On the sports side you'll find modern baseball and football wax plus a rotating case of vintage cardboard, making this a legitimate stop for a Springfield card shop run whether you chase rookies or Charizards. The shop is an active buyer, so inventory turns over quickly — worth checking back often.

What sets Champion City apart from a typical hybrid game store is the event calendar. The store regularly hosts in-store events with prizes and free card giveaways, and it has built a reputation among Clark County collectors as the place where the community actually gathers. Staff draw consistent praise in its 300-plus Google reviews for knowing the products they sell and for fair trade offers on both games and cards.

Hours are collector-friendly: open until 8PM every day but Sunday, which makes weekday evening stops easy. If you're hunting Pokemon cards in Springfield or looking to move a collection, bring your trade binder — the counter here does volume, and the 4.5-star rating across hundreds of reviews suggests most people leave happy.
